FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Hajj types are supported?
Hajj Sense supports all three types: Tamattu, Qiran, and Ifrad. Choose your type during setup and the calendar will tailor all rites accordingly.
Which madhabs are supported?
All four Sunni schools of thought: Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, and Hanbali. You can change your madhab anytime in Settings.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. All rite guides, duas, atonement rules, and calculations work without an internet connection. Only the half-night calculator (which fetches prayer times) and emergency SOS (which shares GPS) need connectivity.
How does the Emergency SOS work?
Long-press the SOS button for 3 seconds. The app will compose a message with your GPS coordinates that you can send to your emergency contacts via SMS or WhatsApp.
Is my data shared?
No. All your Hajj data is stored locally on your device. We collect only anonymous usage analytics to improve the app. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need an account?
No. Hajj Sense works completely without any account or login.
How do I switch languages?
Go to Settings and tap the language option. The app supports 16 languages with full right-to-left layout for Arabic, Urdu, and other RTL languages.
What is the Expiation Calculator?
If a violation occurs during Hajj (such as missing an obligation), the Expiation Calculator determines the required penalty based on your madhab. You can download a PDF summary to review with your scholar.
How does Study Mode work?
Study Mode helps you learn the rites before your trip with interactive flashcards, quizzes, and spaced repetition. During Hajj, switch to Live Mode for real-time, step-by-step guidance.
